Taking Shape

You deserve this
I remind myself
Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want
And get it

You’ve earned the right to grow
Take your ego out of the equation
And start showing up as your highest self
A woman who is the blue sky above the canopy of clouds
She doesn’t sweat the small stuff
Because she is rooted in
Purpose
And
Possibility

You may have formed habitual negative responses
And be practiced in
Scarcity
And
Anxiety

Recognize those for what they are
Culture
Not nature
An armor you embraced out of a need to survive
Of which you now free to remove
To thrive

My body shifts as I unmute
Where I used to falter
I now speak with full lungs
Effortlessly

A caterpillar doesn’t think about how big and beautiful her wingspan will be. She doesn’t worry about what it will be like to fly or how she’ll even manage to leave the ground in the first place. She doesn’t let herself think about how scary it might be. The future is of no concern to those who are taking shape in the present.

Instead, she simply trusts the process and transforms with the knowledge that what is meant for her will find her.

Onward.
